Apple Pie Beverage
This is a fun beverage! It can be served hot or cold. It can be served non-alcoholic or kicked up a bit with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum. We served this for Christmas Eve and it felt very festive but it would" hit the spot" any day of the year! An added value is .... it is very easy to prepare and can be prepared in advance!
1 - half gallon apple cidar
1 - half gallon apple juice
3 - 4 cinnamon sticks
1 cup sugar
spiced rum (optional)
Combine all ingredients except the rum in a stock pot. Bring the liquid to a boil and allow to gently boil for 1/2 an hour. You can serve at this point although if you desire to kick it up remove pot from heat and allow mixture to cool before adding rum. I added 1 1/4 cup of rum although you can adjust this as desired or serve the rum on the side for consumers to add themselves.
Store any excess in the refrigerator. It can be served cold or heated in the microwave.
