Traditional Egg Nog

Have you ever had REAL eggnog? By real I mean homemade eggnog vs.the cartons you get at the grocery store. In my opinion, there is no comparisonHomemade is light and refreshing vs. the cartons drink being thick and a completely different taste. I recommend making eggnog for the holidays. I think you'll be pleased.

1 dozen eggs
1 quart Half & Half
1 pint whipping cream
1/2 gallon 2% milk
2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
nutmeg

Separate the whites and yolks of the eggs.
Beat the whites until stiff.
Beat the yolks in a separate bowl.
Combine the yolks, cream, Half and Half and milk in a large bowl or punch bowl.
Stir in the sugar allowing to dissolve.
Gently add and stir in the whipped egg whites.

Serve with or without rum.
