Tangerine Chess Pie

Looking for a unique pie? This is a tasty alternative to your normal fruit pies. I am sure you will enjoy this pie! I believe I received this recipe from the Southern Living Magazine.

Pie Crust
1 /12 cup suagr
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon yellow corn meal
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons grated tangerine rind (just the orange not white)
1/3 cup fresh tangerine juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 eggs (lightly beat)
optional whipped cream topping

Bake pie crust at 450 degrees for 8 minutes.
Whisk together sugar, flour, corn meal, salt, melted butter, milk, tangerine rind, tangerine juice, lemon juice, and eggs. Pour into the crust.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 -45 minutes.  (After 20 minutes protect crust with foil.)
Serve with whipped cream.

Substitutes:
Lemon-Lime - Sub lime juice for tangerine juice and sub lime/lemon rind.
Orange - Sub orange juice and orange rind.
