Makes a pretty presentation!

This delicious recipe came from Linda Jones. It is so good you will make it again and again and again!!

Crust:
1 cup pecans
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter flavored Crisco
1/2 cup flaked coconut

It is a cheese cake!
Filling:
2 packages (8 oz.) cream cheese
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cans (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish with butter flavored Crisco.
Chop a 1/2 cup of nuts coarsely and a 1/2 cup of nuts finely.
In a mixing bowl combine flour and brown sugar.
Add to flour mixture the nuts and coconut.
Mix well.
Remove 1/2 cup of this mixture and set aside.
Press the remaining mixture on to the bottom of baking dish as a crust.
Bake crust at 350 degrees for 12 -15 minutes.
While crust is baking beat cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla with an electric mixer until smooth.
Spread this mixture over the hot crust and return to the oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven top with cherries then the reserved portion of crust mixture.
Return to oven another 15 minutes.
